Data centers are poisoning people and driving up their utility bills, not to mention the ungodly amount of water they consume. A massive new data center is being planned for Eastern Kentucky and will be one of the largest in the state so far. According to Louisville Public Media, the new data center will eventually need more than one gigawatt of electricity. That is enough electricity to support more than 800,000 average homes for an entire year.
