I stand with the people of Pineville and the rest of the community as a whole and 100% oppose the proposed data center. After looking at the potential impact on our community, I believe the cons far outweigh the pros. This project could permanently change the nature of this place as we know it, and it’s untelling what it would do to the wildlife in the area. Data centers are poisoning people and driving up their utility bills, not to mention the ungodly amount of water they consume. A massive new data center is being planned for Eastern Kentucky and will be one of the largest in the state so far. According to Louisville Public Media, the new data center will eventually need more than one gigawatt of electricity.
