How to I change my profile photo?

How do I change my background wallpaper?

Navigate to your profile settings located here: https://social.defiantamerica.com/settings. Click the edit photo tab. Click design. Click the camera icon. A window will open for you to select the background of your choice. Don't for get to save the changes before you explore the rest of the site.

How do I tag someone?

There are two ways to tag a user. When you tag someone, the user that you tag will get a message in their notifications that you have mentioned them. When creating a post simply enclose the desired username in brackets. To easily find the user name of a profile navigate to a users profile and in the address bar after the / you will see the user's username. For example the user name for profile https://social.defiantamerica.com/defiantamerica is defiantamerica. Therefore to tag Defiant America's profile, type [defiantamerica].

Alternatively when creating a post you can type @ and begin typing a users name. A drop down list will load. Choose the user you would like to tag.

How do I turn off the chat notification sound?

Click the account menu in the top right of the screen. Then click settings. Navigate to the notification settings: https://social.defiantamerica.com/settings/notifications. There you can toggle notification sounds on or off. Don't forget to save your settings before you leave the notifications page.

How do I use only the first name field on my profile?

To use only the first name field and leave the last name field blank, enter a "zero width space" character into the last name field. You can copy a "zero width space" from this webpage: https://unicode-explorer.com/c/200B  

How do I install an app on my phone?

You will be prompted at the bottom of the screen to install the Progressive Web App (PWA). If you don't see it, delete the cookie for this site and it will show. If you do not want to install it, you can click the X button on the banner to close it and it will never show again, unless you delete your cookie. This is available on mobile and desktop. If you install it, you will get a run icon on your desktop. Clicking the icon will run a browserless app.

I tried to share a post, but I got an error message that said "There is something that went wrong!" What is going on?

If you get a popup with that message, it means the post has been deleted. The message will popup if you try to share or interact with a deleted post.

How do I become verified?

Verification means that we have confirmed that you are a real person and you are who you say you are. Pages, Brands, Groups, and Profiles can become verified.

You can navigate here: https://social.defiantamerica.com/settings/verification and upload the appropriate documents. All identification documents are destroyed and non-recoverable after verification.
