What a week!!! Just as I was about to complete recording my first audiobook, my main home machine went belly-up early on Sunday morning (while I was asleep), and could not be brought back online until I made memory space available with two new drives!!!
The biggest mystery: using PartedMagic, all of the files on the affected partitions remained available for copying; and the larger partition, which was just used for storage, remains completely open.
